Mount Etna is more than a volcano — it is a living part of Sicily: a landscape of fire, wind, ancient lava, mountain traditions and unforgettable flavours. We walk among volcanic craters and lava formations while you learn about the volcano's geology, history and cultural significance through the personal stories of our local hosts. Lunch is a traditional Sicilian meal at a mountain refuge at about 2,000 metres. If conditions allow, you can continue to about 3,000 metres by cable car and authorised 4x4 vehicles. This is not simply a tour — it is a shared experience, full of nature, flavours and people.

Where do we meet? +
Choose Taormina or Catania when booking. The exact meeting location and departure time of your meeting point are shown during booking and included in your confirmation email.
What should I wear? +
Closed trekking or sports shoes with good grip, layered clothing and a windproof jacket — it is much colder at altitude than on the coast, even in summer. Bring sunglasses, sunscreen and water.
How demanding is it? +
Moderate: walks on uneven volcanic terrain at altitude. Suitable for adults and families with a reasonable level of fitness. Let us know about any mobility or health conditions before booking.
What happens with the 3,000 m upgrade if conditions are bad? +
The high-altitude option depends on weather, volcanic activity, safety regulations and operational availability. If it cannot run on the day, the upgrade is not charged or is refunded.
